The next Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Camaro, which will replace the current models in 2014, was born on a whole new platform, the Alpha platform. This component, with rear-wheel drive architecture, will make its debut Cadillac ATS, a midsize sedan called to deal with BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class
The decision will lead to a significant reduction of development costs and production of large sport Cadillac and Chevrolet. For its part, the new ATS will be produced in four body variants: sedan, station wagon, coupe and convertible, with the latter still in the balance between metal or canvas roof.
On the contrary instead of the current series, the CTS will not be given either as family or as a coupe, but only as a sedan. The bonnet of the ATS, at least for the U.S. market, there is the presence of a 2.0 turbo, a 3.6 V6 with direct injection and a V8. Even now, moreover, is talking futuristic sporty version of ATS-V, perhaps driven by a variant of the turbocharged six-cylinder
